Romantic Hotel Getaways For Valentines
As far as I am concerned, getaways are romantic no matter what. After all, if getting away from the mundane everyday drudgery, the bills, the worries, the rush and the noise, is not romantic, what is? And romantic hotel getaways on Valentine’s Day are the best. Ooh! I get all tingly just thinking about them.
If you are anything like me, you are probably dreaming of a romantic piece of paradise for your next Valentine’s Day. Allow me to make a few suggestions that will not require passports or visas because they are right here within our United States borders:
1. Calistoga Ranch, Calistoga, California: This secluded lovers’ nest is tucked away in a forest just east of the Silverado Trail in Napa Valley. Overlooking the peaceful Lommel Lake, it is built to harmonize with its surrounding nature and offers buttermilk baths, mud baths, outdoor walnut oil massages and a natural thermal mineral pool.
2. MacArthur Place Inn and Spa, Sonoma, California: This Victorian inn is nestled in its own gardens and orchards. Its suites and cottages offer two-person hydrotherapy tubs, fireplaces, sitting areas and balconies overlooking the multicolored gardens. Its spa treatments offer grape seed scrubs inspired by the wind country.
3. Royal Palms Resort and Spa, Phoenix, Arizona: 117 casitas and guestrooms were added to its Spanish Mediterranean estate that was originally built in 1929. The Alvadora Spa has fountains, fireplaces, a Watsu massage pool and an indoor/outdoor Acqua Dolce couples’ compound.
4. Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, Arizona: This lustrous modern facility features The Sanctum; a stone-wall hideaway that couples can rent for the hour or for half-day and take pleasure in the invigorating pool, flood shower and the fire pit.
5. Spa at the Mandarin Oriental, New York City: This Asian-inspired spa takes up the thirty-fifth floor of the Time Warner Center, just a swift elevator ride away from world renowned restaurants. It offers sexy rooms and a bewitching suite for couples in love with an antique Chinese bed, a private steam shower and a fireplace.
6. Mirbeau Inn and Spa, Skaneateles, New York: Located in upstate New York in the Finger Lakes district and its chateau-style rooms overlook beautiful gardens and feature fireplaces and couple-sized baths. The spa offers Orange parfait treatment which is a milk bath scented with orange blossoms.
7. The Inn at Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton, South Carolina: This Low Country Style inn has roomy cottages overlooking the May River and the golf course which swerves along its shore. The spa treatment rooms have verandas and outdoor baths.
8. Mauna Lani Spa Mana Lani Resort, Big Island, Hawaii: This spa has 335 rooms that overlook the ocean as well as butler-served bungalows. It offers exotic treatments like the Ginger Honey Body Therapy and an outdoor lava sauna.
9. Little Palm Island Resort and Spa, Little Torch Key, Florida: Accessible only by boat or a seaplane, this is a well hidden treasure in the Florida Keys. Its English Colonial style private bungalows overlook the sea through tropical palm trees. It provided canoeing, diving, sailing, fishing and sumptuous Indonesian spa treatments.
10. Disney World Luxury Resorts in Anaheim, California or Orland, Florida: These are perfect romantic hotel getaways on Valentine’s Day for the entire family. The couples can find plenty of time to be alone while the children are entertained in their onsite kid’s clubs.
