Special Surprise Valentine Proposals
Suprize Your Loved One This Valentines Day & Drop The Big One - Propose
According to the Diamond Information Center and if their statistics can be trusted to be accurate, ten percent of the reported two and a half million couples who get engaged every year in the United States get engaged on Saint Valentine’s Day — the holiday that celebrates love and romance.
You might think that proposing is a simple matter of “popping the question” but it is not. The setting, the mood and the circumstances must be just right. After all, your beloved bride-to-be deserves the most romantic part of you, of course, but she also deserve to be able to walk away from the memorable event with a beautiful story to share with the entire world — a story that will turn her listeners green with envy for they were not romanced as skillfully as she was.
The following are a few tips and ideas on how to best propose to your woman on Saint Valentine’s Day:
- Speaking to your bride’s family and asking for her hand in marriage will not only elevate you in the eyes of your future in-laws but it will also earn you bonus points with your bride-to-be.
- Before you actually pop the question, be sure that she is ready and shares your feelings and will therefore respond with a non-hesitant and happy “Yes!”
- Plan ahead by ensuring that she will be there to receive the proposal on Saint Valentine’s Day and not out of town on some business trip for instance.
- Prepare a scrape book that will include mementos of things you two have done together, places you have visited and so on. Include some dried flowers, photos of the two of you, theater and concert ticket stubs, lyrics to songs you both love, cards and notes she had given you, poems you have read together and anything else you can think of. Make the last page of the scrap book the page in which you ask her to marry you. Invite her out for a romantic Saint Valentine’s Day dinner at the restaurant you had your first date in and bring the scrapbook along as well as the engagement ring. Arrange for your waiter to take a picture (which you will later add to the scrapbook) of the two of you when you signal him. As she enjoys the dinner and recalls the wonderful memories you had made together she will be thrilled and impressed with the romantic gesture of preparing the scrapbook. When she reaches the last page, signal the waiter with the camera, drop down on one knee and extend the engagement ring toward her left hand.
- If the scrapbook is too much trouble you could prepare a large banner which will be unfurled at your favorite restaurant, at the top of a ski lift, on a local billboard or imbedded in the Saint Valentine’s Day gift you purchased for her. But always be sure to be ready to drop down on one knee and extend the engagement ring.
- You could take your intended future wife to an event that she would love and have the MC publicly announce that you would like to know whether the woman you are in love with would agree to be your wife.
- If your woman has a favorite Chinese restaurant, arrange for them to insert the love notes that you prepared for that purpose inside a bowl full of fortune cookies. Take an additional fortune cookie and insert the engagement ring with an attached “Will you marry me, please?” note and keep it separated from the others and out of her sight. The cookies will be brought out after dinner and she will open them one by one to read your love messages with sheer pleasure. Lastly, you will let her open fortune cookie you have been hiding from her and watch her jump for joy.
