Valentine Decorations For Your Home

Saint Valentine’s Day is getting closer by the minute and you need to get ready to receive it in a way that will be memorable and most appreciated by your significant-other. Remember! If your significant- other is someone you have already spent a number of previous Saint Valentine’s Days with, you will probably want this one to standout by being uniquely different. If your significant-other is a new love, you very likely want to make a huge impression to ensure many more Saint Valentine’s Days spent lovingly together. If, however, you do not yet have a significant-other but you are scheduled to have a first date on this rapidly arriving Saint Valentine’s Day with someone you have been dreaming of for a very long time, someone who has been at the top of all your wish lists and would like to keep for the rest of your life, you most definitely want to sweep that person off his or her feet by showing just how romantic you can be.

Whichever category fits your relationship status you need to know that the pre-planning, the effort you put forth and the hard work will always be appreciated more than anything else. Sure, elegant restaurants, expensive jewelry, weekend getaways and beautiful flowers are great and will be gladly received but it is what you put most effort into and worked hardest at that will earn you the biggest points. Although I do not quite understand it myself, it is a proven fact that effort and work tend to show more loving and appear most romantic than anything else.

So, how about decorating your home for Saint Valentine’s Day and cooking the holiday dinner yourself? And do try to make it an unexpected surprise.

First you need to prepare by deciding on the dinner menu and purchasing all the ingredients.  If you do not know how to cook, cute little heart-shaped sandwiches formed with a cookie cutter of that design will be received just as well as a gourmet dinner because it is the effort that will count here.

You then need to buy the decorating materials. Most of your local stores at this time of the year will be selling some nice shiny Saint Valentine’s Day wrapping paper which you will need to cover the front door of your house. Tape a single long-stemmed red rose over the wrapping paper along with a Valentine’s card inside an envelope. You can, of course, buy the card but making it yourself will be more special.

Buy a streamer that says “Happy Valentine’s Day” and hang it where he or she will see it immediately upon entering your home. Cover your dining table with a tablecloth (disposable paper or fabric) that displays a Valentine’s Day theme and set the table with matching or solid red napkins, red disposable dishes, crystal or like-crystal wine or champagne glasses, and red disposable cutlery. Place a bouquet of red roses in a red vase and position it in the center of the table with two red candles on either side of it. Set a bottle of wine or champagne on ice near the center of the table.

You will also decorate the bathroom with scented heart- or red rose-shaped soap in the soap dish and prepare a bottle of bubble bath and a pre-lit sweet smelling candle at the edge of the bathtub. Additionally, using red lipstick, draw a heart with an arrow and write “Be my Valentine” within.

After dinner which you will be serving, send him or her to take a relaxing bubble bath while you quickly do the dishes and when you are done go to the bedroom where you have already turned down the bed and sprinkled rose petals on the pillows and light a few scented candles. When he or she are done with the bath and emerge from the bathroom, invite them into the bedroom.

Then … then you take it from there because I know you need no more instructions from me—Happy Saint Valentine’s Day!
